Students in the Rocky River Instrumental Music Program have many solo and small ensemble possibilities. There are two contests that the students may attend in February of each year to have their skills adjudicated. These events are sponsored by the Greater Cleveland Solo and Ensemble Contest Association and The Ohio Music Education Association.
Students also can perform at various events where music has been requested, but a large ensemble is not feasible or appropriate. Events such as this have included: school event receptions, school employee retirement parties, and even a staff member's pre-ceremony wedding music.
Another small ensemble type of group is our Pit Orchestra which is formed on an as needed basis for performances by our Drama Department and Thespian Troupe.
